For someone who doesn’t know you, how would you describe yourself?
– I would describe myself as a fun, direct, and very passionate person. And I would probably classify as a workaholic.
What is it about dressage that got you hooked from the beginning?
– I think in general, everything for me with the horses is about the connection you get with the horse. The reason why I love dressage is the technical part. For me, dressage is ballet with a horse. And you can always develop and nerd out on the details.
You’re currently based at Stud Atterupgaard. Can you tell us a bit about your role there?
– I’ve been based at Stud Atterupgaard for almost 17 years. So they are definitely my chosen family. I’m responsible for training the horses, sales, and social media. I also help with choosing stallions for the mares.

What does a normal day look like for you?
– Most mornings, I get up around 5 and go for a run with my dogs or to the gym before work. Then I basically ride all day, normally between 10-16 horses depending on the day. In between, I take calls from clients. Some days I also teach a bit before going home to my family. Most days I make dinner, and then I food prep for the next day. At the moment, my guilty pleasure is watching some kind of reality show before going to bed.
You’ve had a lot of success with young horses. What do you love most about working with them?
– I have always loved working with young horses. I think the progress they make is incredible! I kind of see it as polishing diamonds. Laying the foundation for (hopefully) future stars for other riders to take over.
What is your best tip when training young horses?
– I would say that the most important thing is to be calm, patient, and to always keep the training fun!

What’s been your proudest moment in your career so far?
– In general, I’m very proud when I take a horse from a green three-year-old to Grand Prix level. Also, winning the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship was a big moment for me.
Looking ahead, what are your goals within equestrian sport?
– My equestrian goals for the future are to keep polishing “my” diamonds in a way that creates healthy and happy sport horses. Another goal is to have my international Grand Prix debut.
What are your thoughts on becoming a Maya Delorez Athlete?
– I’m super happy and proud to join Maya Delorez’s team. I feel like the sporty and functional riding clothing is a perfect match for my lifestyle. It’s also a cool bonus that MD is a Scandinavian brand.
Do you have any favorites from the collection?
– I already have so many favorites from the collection. The Athlete Winter Breeches are incredible, definitely my ‘must have’ in the cold weather. I also love the Customizable Saddle Pad, I’m a huge fan of the fact that you can both change the starting number very easily and make a fun and personal design with the patches.
