How would you describe yourself to someone who doesn’t know you?
– I’m a positive and calm person, who’s always up for a challenge. I think I might look shy, but I’m definitely not!
Can you tell us a bit about how your equestrian journey started in Norway, and what inspired you to pursue show jumping at a professional level?
– My equestrian journey started thanks to my mom. She’s one of the biggest horse lovers I know and she was grooming for Belgian show jumper Ludo Philippaerts when she was young. I started riding when I was 3 years old, but the idea of working with horses at a professional level came to me when I moved to Belgium 5 years ago. Doors opened and everything fell into place!
What led you to base yourself at Philippaerts stables in Belgium, and how has that environment influenced your riding and career?
– Moving to Belgium to work for the Philippaerts really changed my whole perspective on what my life with horses was going to be like. They taught me so much about the sport and the horses and brought me to where I am today, career-wise. They saw potential in me I didn’t even believe I had myself, they gave me room to make mistakes and to learn from them. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a long career and achievements in show jumping.
Can you tell us a bit about your horses – are there any that are extra special to you? Why?
– I have a very nice team consisting of 12 horses (mostly grays) aged 7 to 14, and they all have big personalities, which I love. There are two horses in my team right now which I might have extra soft spots for, and that’s Laurier and Hipster. Laurier have been the horse of many “firsts” for me and Hipster’s personality stole my heart right away.

What does a typical training day look like for you and your horses?
– A typical training day for me and my horses consists of a lot of variation. I love riding in the forest, and I think that keeps the horses happy and mentally fresh. But we also focus on improving the flatwork and jumping if necessary. And the weekends are for shows!
Do you have a favorite show or venue you’ve competed at so far — and why?
– My favorite show was definitely experiencing the 5* in Falsterbo, Sweden 2025! The stadium was full of people, the grass was amazing, and my family came there to support me. I will definitely be back next year!
What are your short-term and long-term goals in show jumping?
– My short-term goals for this season would be to compete in the 5* in Oslo, and do well there. Hopefully collect some points so I get opportunities to jump more in the World Cup later this season. My long-term goals are to participate in the Olympics and the Senior European Championship.

Which achievements are you most proud of so far in your career?
– There are three achievements in my career I’ve had so far, which I think are quite unique and that I’m very proud of:
Winning both the gold and silver in my first Belgian Championship (both in 2022).
Riding 5* in Aachen at the age of 23 in 2024.
Being 6th in the 5* Grand Prix of Helsinki 2024.
If you could give one piece of advice to young riders who look up to you, what would it be?
– My advice to the younger generation would be to accept that you have to start from the very bottom. Saying “yes” in every situation, grabbing opportunities and going out of your comfort zone will naturally bring you where you want to be.
What does it mean to you to become a part of the Maya Delorez athlete team?
– Becoming part of Maya Delorez means a lot to me! As a kid I always looked up to the big riders and what they used to wear. Now I can be that person for others, and it feels like a huge milestone in my career. It’s also super cool to be part of a brand that’s Scandinavian, it feels comforting and close to home.
Do you have a favorite MD piece you can’t live without in training or at shows?
– My top three MD pieces I can’t live without are the teddy jackets, Athlete Breeches and Diana Air Mesh Halfzip.
