For someone who doesn’t know you, how would you describe yourself?

– I am a very ambitious person when it comes to both sport and business, but I always put the horses first, as they are not only my sport partners but also my best friends. Otherwise, I am a very open person who enjoys spending time with my friends.

How did you get into horses from the start?

– My parents were amateur riders, and with both my brothers in the saddle from a very young age, I was surrounded by horses from the moment I can remember. It feels as if I grew up on the back of a horse.

What motivated you to move to the Netherlands at this point in your career?

– I recently moved to the Netherlands to grow my network and work together with new people. I’ve always enjoyed moving to new places, as both the sport and the business are so much about personal relationships.

“I had to find my own path: working in different stables, finding people to invest in horses with, and perhaps the hardest part – trying to keep these top horses, as the financial aspect of the sport has become so demanding.”

What has been the most challenging in your career so far, and how did you overcome it?

– I think in this sport, you constantly face new challenges as you progress and as you grow older. When you’re young, it’s all about qualifying for the next youth championship and being as successful as possible. But as you mature, you realize how long and how rewarding the journey to the top with each horse truly is. For me, finding my own system was particularly difficult because I didn’t grow up in a professional riding family. I had to find my own path: working in different stables, finding people to invest in horses with, and perhaps the hardest part – trying to keep these top horses, as the financial aspect of the sport has become so demanding.

What would you say are your biggest strengths as a show jumper?

– I would say my biggest strengths are my determination and my strong mindset, which are both crucial for performing under pressure – especially at championships.

Looking back, what has been most crucial for your development as a show jumper?

– I think that working with many different horses and trainers, and learning how to improve each horse, has been a big advantage. It has taught me to adapt quickly to a new horse or a new situation.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

– Of course I’m proud of my achievements, like winning the German Championships and becoming European Team Champion as a Young Rider, especially with different horses. But I’m just as proud of helping horses develop into great athletes, even if they later shine with another rider.

What are your future goals in the equestrian sport?

– Business wise, it would be to find great horses and be part of their career, eventually helping them find the perfect match. Sport wise, I dream of competing at the highest level, riding the 5* classes in Aachen would be a dream. I once had the chance to ride the U25 classes there, and you can truly feel how special that place is.

How do you feel about becoming an MD athlete?

– Becoming an MD athlete means a lot to me, especially because you spend so many hours in the saddle every day, and what you wear has to be comfortable, functional, and still make you feel confident in the ring.

What are your favorite pieces from our collection?

– My favorite pieces from your collection are definitely the teddy jackets, as they are so warm and comfortable, especially on cold days. I also really like the Classic and Athlete breeches for riding.
