Maya on Tour

CHIO Aachen 2023

Maya Delorez was at the CHIO Aachen 2023, our first time in Germany! 🇩🇪 Read a recap on how this amazing week went.

Fri 30 Jun - 23

The day had finally come! Maya Delorez was in Germany for the first time, and not just anywhere. No, we were at the CHIO Aachen World Equestrian Festival, one of the most prestigious horse shows in the world. We had a stand at the CHIO Village for a week and man, did we soak up amazing vibes there! Here’s a little recap of our time in Aachen.

Our first time at a fair in Germany – how many people could we really expect at our stand? At least, that’s what we thought before we got there. We had a rather small stand by MD standards, with just one fitting room. But on the very first day, we realized: Welp, we totally underestimated this! Our stand was packed with people in between the competitions, all eager to snag some new items – some old-school MD pros that have been with us since day one, some discovering us for the first time. We had way more visitors than we could have ever imagined, it was simply overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who dropped by!

One of the best parts was finally meeting our German community and chatting with all of you. Many of you were thrilled to see and try out our products “in real life” for the first time, and that made us so happy! Finally, we could talk face-to-face with you and hear your suggestions and wishes in person, and we were blown away by the positive feedback we received. So many of you just came by to tell us how much you love our breeches and that you only use them now. You can’t imagine how happy that made us.

As a team, we had so much fun this week! It’s true that there’s a lot of work behind a fair like this: Building the stand, hanging up products, assisting customers, keeping an eye on inventory status – often, we had to be spontaneous and even had to order new products from Sweden during the fair because some items sold out completely within a few days. But we also had some time to watch the competitions, stroll around the fair, meeting MD team riders and experience the CHIO atmosphere. We all had a blast and it really brought the seven of us together.

What did we learn for the next CHIO Aachen? We definitely need a bigger stand. You can always find out where we’ll be headed next, whether it’s another fair or tournament, by checking out “Maya on Tour.” Maybe we’ll see you again soon in Germany?
