Production & Design Intern

About Maya Delorez

Maya Delorez is a Swedish equestrian brand founded in 2018 with a clear ambition: to challenge traditional equestrian wear by creating functional, high-performance apparel developed around the needs of today’s riders. With customers all over the world and a strong physical and digital presence, we continue our journey toward becoming the world’s leading equestrian brand.

At Maya Delorez, you’ll be part of an ambitious and fast-paced team where ideas quickly turn into reality. We are now looking for an intern to join our Production & Design team, who is eager to gain hands-on experience in product development and take part in the process from initial idea and design to finished product.

About the role

As a Production & Design Intern, you will work closely with our product team and be involved in the development of upcoming collections. The role combines creative and technical tasks and will give you broad insight into the entire product development process – from design and material selection to samples, fittings, and production.

We believe you are curious, detail-oriented, and structured, with a strong interest in design, product development, and materials. You take initiative, have a solution-oriented mindset, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where several projects and products are developed simultaneously.

During your internship, you will work closely with our Production & Design team, supporting both day-to-day tasks and the development of new products and collections.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the team throughout the product development process, from initial ideas and sketches to samples and finished products.

  • Assist in creating and updating technical drawings, tech packs, measurement charts, and other product documentation.

  • Handle, organize, and follow up on samples throughout different stages of the development process.

  • Participate in fittings and assist with measurements, documentation, and comments regarding fit, construction, and design.

  • Assist with materials, colors, and trims, as well as organizing and maintaining material and sample libraries.

  • Support quality control and help ensure that samples are aligned with specifications and design requirements.

  • Keep product information and documentation accurate and up to date throughout the development process.

  • Assist the team with research related to materials, colors, functionality, trends, and product development.

Qualifications

  • You are currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary education within Fashion Design, Textiles, Product Development, Garment Technology, or a related field. The internship must be a mandatory part of your education and completed as part of your studies.

  • You have a basic understanding of textiles, materials, and garment construction, as well as a strong interest in product development.

  • You are structured and detail-oriented, with a good eye for color, proportions, fit, and details.

  • You are proactive and solution-oriented, with a willingness to learn, develop, and take responsibility.

  • You are comfortable managing several tasks simultaneously and working toward deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign is considered a plus.

  • Previous experience with tech packs, fittings, PLM systems, sewing, or pattern making is considered a plus.

  • Previous experience with or a strong interest in horses and equestrian sports is considered a plus.
