Six years have passed since the first MD breeches saw the light of day. Since then, hundreds of new products have been launched, we have a lot of fantastic team riders and ambassadors representing us, and we have visited competitions and fairs all around the world. To keep everything running smoothly, the number of employees at Maya's office has also grown. Today, the Maya Delorez team consists of around 25 people, and you can meet them all here.

Since September 2023, Maya Delorez's headquarters have been located next to the Central Station in Uppsala, 43 miles north of Sweden's capital. Situated on the seventh floor of the modern Arena Magasin X building, employees are greeted daily with breakfast, lit candles, fresh flowers, and thoughtful interior details. Here, the teams working on Maya Delorez's e-commerce, marketing, content, and communications are based. The office layout includes traditional desk spaces as well as various lounge areas for more creative work. It's MD's founder and CEO, Madelene herself, who has decorated the office.

I love interior design and beautiful things! Soft colors, lovely shapes, and materials with various textures that blend together soothe my soul. The classic, stark office style often feels a bit too cold and clinical for my taste. Instead, I want to create a workspace that gives the same feeling as stepping into a beautiful home a sense of harmony that permeates the entire body.

The office is also free from outdoor shoes. When we asked Madelene how she came up with that idea and what it means for the office environment, she responded that:

Sorry, but who really wants to wear shoes all day at work? So when I had the opportunity to decide for myself, it was obvious that there would be no shoes here! Indoor shoes are welcome, and all our external visitors are of course offered a pair of branded slippers!?

We ask three employees at MD some quick questions:

Isabelle Wendin | Office Manager

Can you describe your job and what a typical workday looks like?
In my role as Office Manager, I almost always have varied days, as I do a lot of different things. It can range from big to small tasks, but overall, my mission is to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the office on a daily basis. It's my responsibility to maintain a welcoming environment that enables productive workdays for all employees and creates a wow factor for both employees and visitors. My role also involves a lot of administration, planning, and project management. For example, we often organize events and gatherings for the employees at MD, which I plan and execute. My job is to ensure that everyone enjoys their time at the office every day!

What do you enjoy most about your job?
The great thing about my job is its flexibility and the wonderful mix of administration, planning, and project management, all while having room to be creatively hands-on. Planning events and happenings for the team is such a luxury, and it's usually very appreciated. Plus, I have an incredible team around me that brings such positive energy. That's truly the best part!

What do you think makes Maya Delorez a unique employer?
What makes MD unique and also makes us stronger is the fact that we stand firmly on our own feet without intermediaries throughout the company, which allows us to be quick and strong where needed. It's also wonderful that we all have big goals and visions and aren't afraid of goals that seem too big; rather, it motivates us. Above all, I would say that MD is a unique employer by being so caring about its employees. As an employee, you feel that MD always goes the extra mile. Luxury!

Maja Liljeqvist | Logistics Worker

Can you describe your job and what a typical workday looks like?
It really varies from day to day, but we usually start at seven in the morning. Sometimes we start the day by picking orders, and then in the afternoons, we handle all the returns. Other days, we could be packing products for an upcoming fair. I also spend some time supporting Customer Service during busy periods when many customers need assistance with different issues or questions.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I think the best is the variety. Even when there isn't a fair or a major campaign happening, there are always new things going on. New products arrive regularly, there are new tasks to tackle, and new colleagues to work with. This dynamic and ever-changing environment keeps things interesting and exciting for me.

How long have you been working at MD and how did your journey start here?
I've been working at Maya Delorez for a year as of June. I started working full-time at Maya Delorez right after graduating, and I've been here ever since. However, my journey with MD began in 2019 when I had my first internship here while in ninth grade. Since then, throughout my school years, I've been working part-time during major campaigns like Black Week.

What do you think is the best thing about the warehouse and office in Tierp?
I really enjoy the fact that it's our first own warehouse, with really nice facilities. It's exciting because there are so many possibilities here; with the photography studio, lounge areas, and showroom, we can host photo shoots and customer events. The two customer events we've organized have been successful and very fun! But the absolute best part is probably the colleagues, everyone who works here is truly wonderful. We have fun every day, and I never feel Sunday night blues about going to work on Monday. It's always enjoyable, and everyone is driven and contributes to a great atmosphere.

Saga Sjöberg  | CRM Specialist

Can you describe your job and what a typical workday looks like?
My main area is the Maya Delorez VIP Community! I am responsible for everything related to the community, and my workdays mainly consist of developing and improving the experience for everyone in the MD VIP. This can involve designing offers, bonus checks, and developing the design of the VIP page together with our e-commerce team. It also involves a lot of contact with colleagues who are at trade shows and actually meet the community to improve the offline experience. I am also responsible for the VIP offers made in collaboration with external partners.

I also work with all email automations. For example, when you sign up for MD VIP and receive a welcome email, or when you purchase a product and get an order confirmation, I'm the one who designs them. But my main focus is always on providing the best experience for our MD VIP Community.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I have a lot of freedom in my job, and there are no limits when it comes to sharing ideas. I really value that and find it really enjoyable. But overall, working with such a dedicated community of riders at all levels who always give so much back, all the positive feedback, is the best part! It's fun to create a community, build it up, see it evolve, and grow.

What do you think is the best thing about the office?
The sense of community is the best part, regardless of who is here or who you bump into in the kitchen, there is always positive energy and everyone really contributes to it. It's also very inspiring that there are so many young women driving this company forward, with an incredible CEO leading the way. It's by far the most driven company I've worked for.

If you were to highlight a colleague who brightens your days a little extra, who would it be?
There are many colleagues who brighten my days, but closest are my colleagues in the marketing team. It's always fun to bounce ideas off them, we uplift each other and collaborate closely. I can't choose just one, haha, it's like picking a favorite child, it's not possible. But, Isabelle always brings an energy boost!

MD Warehouse

A year before the relocation of MD's headquarters, an even larger move took place. In the fall of 2022, the new warehouse was completed in Tierp, 31 miles north of Uppsala, and the entire logistics operation was moved there. In the new warehouse facilities, where all of MD's products are stored and packed, there are also lounge areas, a photography studio, two spacious kitchens, a showroom, and office spaces. This is where all order processing, customer service, and planning and packing for trade shows take place. It also serves as the location for popular customer events and studio photoshoots.
